CORUS QUAY building, built in 2010, is home to a five-storey-high bio-filter ‘living wall’ for air filtration, as well as a green roof with energy efficient lighting. The building is LEED gold certified. The state of the art building features a significantly reduced power signature, is equipped with low-flow water fixtures, and re-uses rainwater to reduce water consumption.

The Corporate Knights Award of Distinction: Avrim Lazar

The 2012 Gala Dinner will celebrate the top corporate citizens in Canada, as well as the Corporate Knights Award of Distinction winner, Avrim Lazar. As Canada’s chief lumberjack for the past decade, Avrim played an instrumental role reinventing our forestry industry to be at the forefront of sustainable resource management and the bio-based economy. Avrim led the unprecedented collaboration between civil society and industryin forging the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement, the largest conservation agreement in the world. It has committed Canadian industry to the highest environmental standards of forest management within an area twice the size of Germany.
