Corporate Citizens Clean Revenue Taxonomy

Corporate Knights has made a five-year commitment to define and refine a global clean revenue taxonomy standard for calculating Clean Revenue that is consistent, comparable, relevant, and specific as well as being public and free of charge, with the eventual aim of having “Clean Revenue” integrated into the segmented reporting guidance by global accounting standards setting bodies.

The most up to date public version of the Clean Revenue Taxonomy can be found here.

Clean Revenue Definition

The Clean Revenue metric measures a company’s revenue from all goods and services which have a clear environmental and–in a limited number of well-defined cases–social benefits. This includes revenue from clean transition, low-carbon economy and circular economy revenue segments. Corporate Knights is developing the Clean Revenue metric for all FactSet RBICS sectors, which are further refined to the Corporate Knights Industry Classification (CKIC).  As part of this effort, we are also mapping each clean revenue segment to relevant sustainable development goals.
